This year we posted on Giving Tuesday, another first. As we get older, there are fewer firsts, but with God, we've seen miracles upon miracles. We wait expectantly for him to move, & sometimes we don't wait so well, working on that.
Y'all might not know that Rick & I have a NP, Gather n Grace (you do now since you’re on the page). The non-profit was birthed over four years ago from a retreat we went to; we want everyone to experience this retreat. A time of resting from the world, breaking free from ancestry chains, & walking in the freedom of our identity in Christ. And, after the retreat, go out & ROAR about Jesus & what he has done! REST. RESTORE. ROAR. Scholarships are one of the ways we help women that want to attend but don't see how. They have to contribute some; they need some skin in the game.
Next up, Monday community family dinners, which are FREE for all! Dinner is currently at All Things Acres; we will take the dinner out into the city next year. Contributions help with the cost of meals. We feed about 30-65 a night! Next year, we would love to provide for 100 every night!
We see all as broken & love to link arms & LOVE BIG. This year we have been able to help a mom with rent from the loss of a job, buy a single mom a dryer, & help a single mom with a car down payment, & help a father with expenses. How do we discern who to provide for? Rick & I usually sense together & come to each other at the same time! Usually, we say, "HECK, YES!!!"
Our goal next year is to build a barn to expand on God's vision to create a space for life skills, bible studies, monthly art, counseling, family dinners, buying a bus for transportation, & more! We want to build lodging for retreats & create a space for the weary to rest.
Finally, our Giving Tree! This year we have 3 families we want help, all local Brenham families that we have watched and know well.j (haha it’s kinda grown since we first posted to a few more families). Some gifts, food, car repairs & expenses. Give a bit of relief from the monthly expenses. We want to give from a posture of abundance!
First family-single mama of 6 (fullfilled $1200)
They share a two bedroom apartment so there isn’t a lot of space, so buying a lot of “things” might not be the best idea, so we hope to gift with cash for her to buy gifts, pay a bill or two, and a $250 gift card for groceries to HEB.
Second family-single mama of 4 (fulfilled $250)
Groceries to HEB!
Third family-single mama of 6 (fulfilled $1500)
She takes care of her elderly mom, and her kiddos in a 2 bedroom apartment. She is the hands and feet of Jesus.
